Located at Fifth and Tryon Streets in the heart of Charlotte, 201 North Tryon serves as the gateway to the center city's entertainment and cultural district.  The 30-story high-rise office building complements surrounding structures while striking its own unique pose in the Charlotte skyline.

 The drill will consist of five (5) floors at a time with each floor evacuating down five (5) floors to their Designated Safe Floor. 

 Each floor must be completely evacuated within six (6) minutes in order to pass.  If even one person fails to evacuate promptly, the entire floor will fail and must retest at a later date.  The Charlotte Fire Department may also fine individuals up to $500 for not cooperating during the drill.

Floor Wardens or Assistant Floor Wardens should ensure that all associates have evacuated from their floor and report their findings to a building engineer who will be located at Stairwell “A”. Please remember in a real life emergency the Floor Wardens or Assistant Floor Wardens would report their findings to Security by using the intercom or red phone in Stairwell “A” .

 

Upon hearing the “All Clear” announcement, associates may return to their floor.

It is suggested that important meetings and phone calls be scheduled for the afternoon in order to avoid interruptions due to the drill.
