Parking Garage Information
Hours of Operation & Staffing:
The garage is open 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. A booth attendant is available Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Rates:
On evenings where there are no major Arena events, there will be a flat fee of $5.00 to park in the 201 N. Tryon Street Parking Garage anytime after 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.
The parking attendant will pre-collect parking fees on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between the hours of 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
Free complimentary parking will remain in effect on Saturday before 5:00 pm and all day on Sunday.
On evenings in which the Arena will host major events, there will be a flat fee of $10.00 to park in the 201 N. Tryon Street Parking Garage.
Wait List:

Parking Policy:
Like any other institution, the parking garage has rules and regulations to better serve customers. Please take care when driving in the deck and follow all signs posted in the deck, and never drive the wrong way.
Most importantly – WATCH OUT FOR PEDESTRIANS!
The speed limit in the parking deck is 5 miles per hour, and it is recommended that you put your car lights on when your vehicle is in motion.
Clearance for the parking garage is 6' 8". Vehicles that exceed this height cannot access the garage.
Ticket Validation:
Client should have his/her ticket validated properly in order to exit the garage at no charge. In the event your ticket is not validated properly, daily rates will apply.
If the client is over the time limit, he/she must pay the balance in cash.
Coupons:
Coupons can be purchased at the parking manager's office located on the lower level near the Church Street entrance.
Coupons are sold as follow: ($2.00) coupons are sold in book of (100) coupons for $200.00, ($3.00) coupons are sold in books of 40 coupons for $120.00, ($4.00) coupons are sold in book of 100 coupons for $400.00, 1 hour coupons are sold in book of 100 coupons for $600.00 and all day coupons are sold in books of 30 coupons for $450.00
Face value of coupons must equal to the face value of the ticket. If the face value of the coupon is less than the time estimated you parked in the garage, the difference must be paid in cash.
Access Cards:
Although its use is unlimited; your access card is to be used exclusively by you and in sequential order. If your card is used out of sequence, it will deny you access to the parking deck. If you choose to use your access card to let a friend or a client out of the parking deck, then your access will be denied when you try to leave the deck. In such a case, you will be subject to pay the maximum daily rate, which must be paid before exiting the garage. In the event that you misplaced or forgot your access card at home, a transient ticket must be used in order to get access to the parking garage. That transient ticket must be validated in the parking manager's office before 5:00 p.m. in order to receive free parking for the day. Cashiers are not authorized to validate tickets and you will be charged the daily rates if the ticket is not validated.
Subleasing your parking garage access card is not allowed and cardholders may have their paring privileges terminated for doing so.
Smoking:
There is a no smoking policy throughout the parking facility. A designated smoking area is located on the outdoor plaza area of the 201 North Tryon. Please place all trash in designated trash containers.
Ticketing Policy:
Clients are given a ticket as a first time offender. This is only to let you know that you are in violation of the parking facility regulations. Your vehicle information has been recorded for our records, and upon second violation your vehicle may be towed at owner's expense.
Towing:
As a last resort, your car may be towed. Every conceivable effort will be made before a car is towed. Customers should update their tag number and phone number at the parking office. Most common reasons for towing include: parking in no parking areas, parking in reserved or disable parking areas without proper permit, and repeat offenders who continue to violate general parking rules.
Cancellation:
Thirty days written notice is required for all cancellations, including maternity/paternity leave.
Lost Access Card:
If you loose your building/garage access card, please visit the security console to have a new card made and report the new access card number to the parking office for activation. There is a $20.00 processing fee to replace lost or damaged cards.
History:
201 North Tryon parking facility is a ten story two-sided structural building, with one side going up, and one side coming down. Each level has a colorful illustration and history of a classic car introduced in that decade. The garage was opened in August of 1998; it has a capacity of 1,030 spaces with a maximum clearance of 6'8", and 350,000 total square feet. The garage has two entrances, one on 6th street and one on Church Street. The two exits for the garage lead toward 6th Street and Church Street. The physical address for the garage is 115 West 6th Street, but the garage is connected with201 North Tryon via the third floor, with easy access to the main lobby.
Parking Equipment:
A ticket spitter regulates the entrances for transient customers, and a card access reader for the contracted customers. Both of these devices open the gate control arm when activated.
